White Tokoname-ware Toki Yuzamashi, water cooling jug from Jinsui Kiln

 

This unglazed cooling jug from Jinsui Kiln is made from white Tokoname clay. 

This jug allows you to cool your water for green teas before adding to your kyusu. You can also pour your brewed tea into the yuzamashi one brewed to avoid over steeping your tea leaves.

Maintenance:
1. After using the yuzamashi, wash it with water and wipe off the moisture thoroughly.
2. Please dry the jug in a well-ventilated place before storing

Please Note:
・Do not use chemical detergents or automatic dishwashers
・Do not use metal sponges (scouring pads)
・Do not use on open flames

 

    About Jinsui: The Toki range was born from the name "Tokiwasure" In the world of Japanese craftsman, enjoying tea time is called “TOKIWASURE”  (TOKIWASURE means forgetting time) Forget the time, drink tea, and recall the time.

    About Tokoname: Located on the west coast of the Chita Peninsula facing Ise Bay, Tokoname City in Aichi Prefecture is known as a pottery town nationwide. Tokoname ware is counted as one of the six oldest kilns in Japan. Pottery has been made here since the 12th century.
