Izumo Seicha

This family-run tea garden is based in Shimane Prefecture. Izumo Seicha was established in 2006 and specialises in cultivating and processing tea from their own tea garden and factory.

Izumo Seicha is a sister company of the long established Tousuien, founded in 1907.

A note from Izumo Seicha

" Depending on the time of year and based on the characteristics of various tea leaf varieties, we make full use of human eyes, hands, and tongues, not mechanically, to bring out the flavour and individuality of the tea and create a delicious tea.

Thanks to the patronage of many customers, we were able to celebrate the 100th anniversary of our founding. Thank you from the bottom of my heart"

Winner of the 69th National Tea Judging Technique Competition

President Yuta Oka, won the 1st prize in the individual division of the National Tea Judging Technique Competition in 2022. He was honoured as the best tea master in Japan!

The competition consisted of guessing the variety of tea, place of origin, when it was harvested through sight, smell, and drinking the tea.

We had the immense pleasure of spending the day with Yuta-san at Izumo Seicha where we experienced the Ichibancha (first flush) spring harvest as well as seeing some of the first tea of the season being processed into tencha. We can't wait to share these delicious teas with all our customers.
