This Uji matcha has been crafted from a blend of cultivars grown by farmer Kento Inoue. The tea plants have been canopy shaded during cultivation to protect the leaves from damage. The tencha leaves are then traditionally stone milled.
This matcha has a lovely smooth mouthfeel. There is a strong vegetal and umami flavour with hints of nori seaweed. This tea has a bitterness that is balanced with a slight grassy sweetness. This matcha will pair beautifully with sweet wagashi such as nerikiri to contrast flavours.
