Tokoname: Large Smoked Black Kyusu by Hirotaka Umehara

This Tokoname Kyusu is much larger than our other pieces which makes it perfect for dark teas and hojicha with larger leaves. 

Made by second generation Tamamitsu craftsman Mr. Hirotaka Umehara. In 1988 Mr. Umehara established Tamamitsu Touen Co and in 1997 Built the Anagama kiln (Shiinoki kiln). Master Umehara is certified as a Traditional Craftsman by the Minister of Economy, Trade and Industry, Japan.
